DetailsThere were several generations of swordsmiths named Osafune Norimitsu, starting with the first generation. Among the Osafune smiths of the same period, Norimitsu was considered one of the most skilled. This particular blade is signed and dated to the Kyōtoku era, and both the jigane (steel surface) and the hamon (temper line) are in excellent condition, clearly showcasing the high level of craftsmanship characteristic of Kyōtoku-era Norimitsu.
