DetailsMokusa blacksmiths were swordsmiths who lived in Mokusa Village, Higashibanai District, Mutsu Province, Oshu (present-day Maigusa, Ichinoseki City, Iwate Prefecture). In the Kamakura period's old densho ``Kanchi-in Honmeijin,'' (観智院本銘尽)the Mokusa school is said to have been active since the Heian period, but there are currently no signed Maisosa swords from the Heian period, and they are considered to be from the Kamakura period. Only the famous works that have been published remain. There are almost no signatures of Maigusa, NHBTHK Jyuyo Touken has only one signature and one unsigned Kiwame, and there are only a few with Mumeikiwame for Hozon and Tokubetsu Hozon. Although this work is Mumei, it is characteristic of the Mokusa school. It is similar to famous works such as Itame hada ga hada tatta nagare no naka de chokuba ga sōtai ni chīsaku futtō suru to, itsunomanika nioikuchi ga shizumi-gokoro. The Mokusa sword is an extremely valuable and rare sword. Mune's Kirikomi is a story of history. Kuro-Urushinuri-Saya-Tachikoshirae is attached.
