DetailsThere were several generations of swordsmiths who bore the name Osafune Norimitsu. Among them, the Norimitsu who signed blades during the Bunmei era is considered one of the most outstanding swordsmiths of the Muromachi period, known for his exceptional skill.
This sword is a work by the Bunmei-era Norimitsu, and both the jigane (surface steel) and hamon (temper line) remain in excellent condition, clearly reflecting his high level of craftsmanship.
The registration certificate issued in 1951 (Showa 26) in Ehime Prefecture, with a three-digit number, further supports the impression that this piece likely belonged to a daimyo family and was passed down through generations.
